Jon’s Birthday Celebration

home Posted on 2015-10-26 20:19

Feels a little like Chinese New Year…He gets 2 days of celebration. On Sunday, we celebrated with the family.

Busy weekend for the family. Most importantly, birthday boy was happy with the presents.

Jon’s Birthday celebration

home Posted on 2015-10-26 09:42

We spent the entire weekend celebrating Jon’s birthday.

On Saturday, we had his classmates over for Halloween birthday party. Jonathan was really happy and was very glad to see his school teacher as well. Åsa has helped Jonathan a lot in motivating him to draw and write. We are glad that he is enjoying school and like his classmates.

Linn was the party planner…she even decided on the activities and the candies that they will eat. Mummy just had fun making the Halloween candy. It was great!!!

Interests

home Posted on 2015-10-26 09:34

Linn started to show interest in learning how to play the piano. She signed up for piano classes in school but her way of learning is really not the same way as how I was taught.

I decided that she should learn it HER way as my way is ‘not fun’ for her. Learning should be fun and I know what it is like to be forced to learn in a certain way.
I am not sure if her interest will last long but it is best to let her decide. After all, there is no point forcing her to continue if she loses her interest.

But she is really interested in scouts activities, learning about the nature and being out in the forest. She liked it so much that she will go to scouts camp even if she is in pain.

Jonathan is only interested in staying at home to play his donald duck video games and building his LEGO empire. It is hard to get him motivated to do anything physical. We really have to push him to do any outdoor activities.
We stopped motorcross as we saw that his interest was waning. We tried almost everything… atheletics, swimming, ice hockey, skating and even Wii games and Dance Central!!!

If any of you have any good suggestions, we will be most interested to hear them.

Perhaps, this is another trait he got from his mother?

Mångkamps Dagen

home Posted on 2015-10-26 09:11

Mångkamps dagen is a day when school kids get to dress up in costume and they can basically run around the school, play sports for the entire day. There are no school lessons on this day.

This year, Linn was assigned to be a pirate. We could not find any ready made Pirate girl outfit at the store and had to made do with what we can find at home.

It was fun.

Nicke found us a cave house in Ola with a beautiful view and sunsets. It was really nice …and it comes with a family of stray cats to keep the children busy.

Happy Birthday Linn

home Posted on 2015-08-08 09:56

My Princess is 8 today and she chose to go on a 4 day walking hike around Stockholm with her Scouts Association and not celebrate with the family. I thought this could only happen when she is 18, not 8.

She has grown so much this year. We gave her a mobile phone as a birthday present so that she can call us when she needs to. Perhaps it is a little too soon, but we really need to contact her at times.

Sometimes she behaves like a teenager but there are times she is like a 4 year old.

Linn, for your birthday, mummy and daddy would like to wish you great happiness as you discover more about yourself, your loves and develop your inner beauty.

Love you and Grattis.

Bellissimo

I had one of the best weekends with my really wonderful old friend Bert in Milan recently. It was simply magnificent, from the Corso apartment she arranged, to all the great restaurants we tried, and of course, the shopping. The greatest of all, was the time we spent catching up, just enjoying the friendship and time together.

Thank you Bert for everything. I will never forget this. Definitely a great way to celebrate 20 years of friendship.

A cool Visitor

Did I mention that we had a lovely visit from my sister. It was fantastic that she dropped by and spent the weekend with us. It was really great to have family over and thank you so much for the visit. Kiss Kiss. Hope you liked it.

Riga / Latvia

For those considering a holiday, please do consider a trip to the Baltics. Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia are really beautiful countries. and they are not so touristy.

Experienced one of the most amazing sunsets.

Summer Vacation

home Posted on 2015-07-22 20:57

My 2 weeks summer vacation officially started on Monday, 20th July.

I finally get to spend some quality time with the kids and they have been having a great summer vacation so far with Nicke. I really missed out on a lot of road trips, visits round the country to see friends and just relaxing having fun. Unfortunately, July happens to be a difficult time for me to take vacation.

So this week, whilst Nicke is away in Florida, I took the kids to the safari in Stockholm, went to Junibacken and today we went to the Natural History Museum. It has been great listening to their thoughts, watching the silly prangs they do but not so great to intervene when things get out of control with them.

How do you stop these 2 from fighting

home Posted on 2015-07-22 20:42

I cannot imagine what it will be like it if I leave these 2 alone. The only thing they do is fight and scream at each other.

So i invent a teamwork competition. They will score points and win prizes if they are nice to each other and help each other out.

So far after 3 days…2 points for Jon and 5 points for Linn.

Of course I am all prepared that this will not work.
